Carbuncle Pond largemouth are in early-fall feeding mode keyed to forage along weed and shoreline cover; the spawn is long over. What’s on the menu / natural forage: Golden shiners, juvenile panfish, and small baitfish along the edges.
Chain pickerel share the weed edges and get more active as water cools; a spinnerbait or soft jerkbait covers both. Yellow perch and panfish fill mixed bags.
Weekday traffic — lighter than the weekend. Fish early, give ramps and swim areas room.
Fixed Dam-controlled water. No shared generation/level feed this cycle — check the agency page the morning you fish; releases and pool levels change daily. Stay outside buoyed restricted zones.

Work legal public shoreline at Carbuncle Pond trailer ramp (concrete-plank trailer ramp; electric motors only) without crossing private lawns or docks. At dawn, fan a soft stickbait or compact spinnerbait along the first weed edge with a little stain. Wait on the shallows and slow down with a Texas-rigged creature.
Launch at Carbuncle Pond trailer ramp and start on lee weed and shoreline cover close by. Electric motors only. The west breeze is manageable early but builds by midday, so fish the protected side first.
Small craft and shallow-draft boats suit this water best. Launch at Carbuncle Pond trailer ramp, spend the first light along weed edges and shoreline cover, then slide to thicker cover as the sun climbs. Electric motors only.
Walking bait in bone or a weedless frog on the calm early surface. Can produce a topwater bite at first light. Leave the topwater rod racked on cold, breezy until the afternoon warm-up.
Compact spinnerbait (white/chartreuse) or green-pumpkin chatterbait on the lightly stained, windblown edges. Weightless stickbait in watermelon/red flake through cover lanes all three days.
Ned rig or small finesse jig on harder bottom once the water clears.
