Frosty nights are cooling the shallows fast, and bass are moving from summer cover to the deep edge of the green weeds and nearby drop-offs, where bluegill, perch and minnows gather. What's on the menu: bluegill, yellow perch, crayfish and minnows.
Walleye feed best at dusk on breaks and points; a jig and minnow or slip bobber with a leech works well. Northern pike · panfish.
Weekday traffic — lighter than the weekend. Fish early, give ramps and swim areas room.
Fixed Dam-controlled water. No shared generation/level feed this cycle — check the agency page the morning you fish; releases and pool levels change daily. Stay outside buoyed restricted zones.

Otter Lake County Park on the north end of the lake offers the best public shore access, with fishing access near the boat launch; the day park is open 9 AM to 9 PM. Cast a weedless worm, spinnerbait or small swimbait along nearby weed edges in the afternoon, when the shallows warm after frosty mornings.
Launch at Otter Lake County Park on the north end, or at another of the four public landings Wisconsin DNR lists. Morning is frosty and calm, so wait for the sun to warm things up. Is the warmest day, and its southwest breeze puts a ripple on the northeast banks, a good time to swim a small swimbait or spinnerbait along the weeds.
Launch at Otter Lake County Park on the north end or one of the other public landings. Idle the outside weed edge with your electronics and mark points and inside turns where it drops into deeper water. Drag a Texas-rigged worm or jig along that edge, and use a drop-shot for fish holding just off the bottom.
Walking bait or popper over weed flats at first light. Hollow-body frog over the last green pads on calm mornings. Topwater usually fades once the sun gets high.
Spinnerbait or bladed jig along weed edges on windy days. Lipless crankbait ripped through the tops of weeds. Suspending jerkbait with long pauses in clear water.
Texas-rigged creature bait or worm on the deep weed edge. Drop-shot or wacky-rigged finesse worm on calm days. Football jig or Ned rig in green pumpkin on hard bottom.
